Why Welcome Weekend Matters

"Welcome Weekend was a great start to my CBU experience. As a sophomore transferring in, I wasn't sure how I would establish relationships, but Welcome Weekend assured me I could. I met so many of my current friends; it helped me get involved in student activities and get to know the campus better."

"As a commuter student, Welcome Weekend exposed me to events and resources CBU offers. I met my FYE Leaders, got close to other students in my group, and began making connections, so coming into class the first day wasn't scary. My FYE leaders made me feel welcome and at home at CBU."

“As a commuter, attending Welcome Weekend was the best way to start the year and helped me feel like I had the full college experience. I was able to connect with my current friends, as well as build relationships with my FYE Leaders and Group. It was a great way to get to know the CBU Campus and community.”

“I met my FYE leader at Welcome Weekend and became good friends. As an FYE leader, I aim to build friendships with my students. I have seen my students make lasting friendships, which began at Welcome Weekend. Now, we all spend time together and go to church together.”

"FYE opened a lot of doors through my first semester of college. I was able to easily make friends and get plugged into on-campus activities. It was very helpful to have FYE leaders who were passionate about pouring into students’ lives and providing any help a new student needs!"

"Welcome Weekend was a blast and was the moment I felt at home at CBU. I met some of my closest friends and mentors during this week."

"As a new student who didn't know anyone else attending CBU, Welcome Weekend was incredibly helpful in comforting me and showed CBU is the place for me. Because of the welcoming nature of my FYE Leaders, I knew I had a community to run to."

"Spring Welcome helped me feel comfortable on campus and got me so excited to be at CBU. The day was full of fun activities where I got to make friends and get connected with other students on campus. I felt so confident in my decision to be a Lancer!"

"Transferring halfway through the year can be daunting, but after going to Spring Welcome, I felt much more at ease and excited for the semester! Through Spring Welcome, I met so many people and now work as a Community Life intern alongside some of the interns who welcomed me to CBU!"
